The health & safety of our employees demand at least the same degree of attention and emphasis as that placed on our mainstream activity which encompasses quality, proficiency, efficiency, environmental and financial awareness. We also recognise our responsibilities for health & safety of others, for example the public, site visitors etc, who may be affected by our activities. It is our aim to achieve a working environment in all projects which is free of work related accidents, dangerous occurrences and ill health, and to this end we will pursue continuing improvements from year to year.
We undertake to discharge our statutory duties by:
1. Identifying hazards on site, assessing the risks related to them and implementing appropriate preventive and protective measures. Risk assessments in compliance with legislation will be conducted by the group safety advisor and or the group manager.
2. Providing and maintaining safe plant and work equipment.
3. Recruiting and appointing personnel who have the skill, ability and competence with their role and level of responsibility.
4. Ensuring that technical competence is maintained through the provision of refresher training as appropriate.
5. Promoting awareness of health & safety and of good practice through the effective communication of relevant information.
6. Furnishing the resources needed to meet these objectives.
All employees, designers and contractors on their part, are encouraged to give their fullest co-operation and to contribute actively towards achieving a work environment which is free of accidents, dangerous occurrences and ill health. Our health & safety policy is reviewed annually to monitor its effectiveness and to ensure that it reflects changing needs and circumstances.
