The INOXPA UltiLobe Hygienic Rotary Lobe Pump represents the next generation of positive displacement lobe pumps, engineered for demanding hygienic process environments. Designed to handle a wide range of fluids, the UltiLobe delivers gentle, low shear transfer while maintaining consistent and reliable flow.
With seven frame sizes and three rotor options per frame, the UltiLobe range comprises 21 pump models. Flow rates extend up to 340 m³/h with differential pressures up to 20 bar, providing significantly higher capacity and pressure capability than previous rotary lobe designs.
Tri lobe rotors are supplied as standard, offering smooth displacement and excellent product protection. Alternative rotor profiles are available to suit specific product characteristics, including viscous, shear sensitive or particulate media.
The UltiLobe pump is designed for hygienic process duties where cleanliness, reliability and product integrity are critical. It is suitable for transfer, circulation, dosing, filling and unloading applications across a wide range of industries.
Typical applications include food and beverage processing, dairy production, cosmetic manufacturing, pharmaceutical processing and fine chemical handling.
The UltiLobe pump is suitable for handling both low and high viscosity fluids, with or without soft solids.
Common fluids include milk, cream, yoghurt, cheese curd, sauces, marinades, syrups, chocolate, tomato products and dressings. In cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, it is used for creams, gels, ointments, emulsions and yeast based media. Fine chemical applications include process additives, emulsions and specialty fluids.
UltiLobe pumps are designed with hygiene as a primary consideration. All product wetted metallic parts are manufactured from AISI 316L stainless steel as standard, with an internal surface finish of Ra < 0.8 microns. Smoother surface finishes are available where required.
All elastomers in contact with the product are certified to EC 1935/2004 and FDA standards. The hygienic internal design supports effective cleaning without disassembly and is fully compatible with CIP and SIP procedures. Cleaning out of place is also possible where required.
When configured with vertical ports, the pump is self draining, reducing product retention and improving cleanability.
The front cover elastomer features a defined compression profile that eliminates dead zones. Four integrated drainage channels allow any leakage caused by elastomer damage to exit the pump visibly, preventing internal product stagnation and aiding early fault detection.
The UltiLobe pump is fitted as standard with two internal single mechanical seals, one per shaft. All seal components are located within the product flow path to ensure effective cleaning during CIP cycles. The seal design is fully hygienic and free from dead zones.
Despite being internal, the seals are fully front loading, allowing in place servicing without disconnecting the pump casing from the pipework. Optional sealing arrangements include single quenched seals and double mechanical seals for more demanding duties.
The gearbox is manufactured entirely from stainless steel, eliminating corrosion risks associated with painted housings during washdown or in aggressive environments.
Precision helical gears provide high torque transmission with smooth, quiet operation. Tapered roller bearings deliver high load capacity while minimising wear and friction, allowing higher operating speeds and extended service life.
The gearbox and bearings are mounted on a single piece stainless steel bearing frame, providing exceptional rigidity and stability. Large diameter, short length shafts are used to reduce deflection and improve resistance to pressure peaks.
UltiLobe pumps are designed to simplify maintenance and reduce downtime. Front loading seals, accessible components and dedicated spare parts kits allow wearing parts to be replaced quickly and predictably.
Regular maintenance improves efficiency, reduces unplanned stoppages and extends pump life. INOXPA spare parts kits help streamline servicing while keeping inventory costs under control.
Pumps and Gearboxes provides UK based technical support, application guidance and long term service assistance for the INOXPA UltiLobe range. Dedicated spare parts and service support are available.
